We believe that the primary role of your child’s therapist is to collaborate with you and your child/teen to clearly identify strengths and struggles, and come up with a game plan to build connection, confidence, and stability.
Sessions with children and families take many forms. Typically, the therapist will meet individually with a child. At times, parents or other caregivers may be invited into the session, or may have special sessions with the therapist to discuss parenting/caregiving issues. Child and family sessions typically last 50-60 minutes.
We work with children aged 7 and up, and with families of all types, on issues such as:
- Family relationships/conflict
- Life transition/family transitions
- Grief/loss and trauma
- Emotional and behavioral concerns
- LGBTQIA+ issues and gender identity
- School-related concerns
This is not an exhaustive list—please reach out by phone or e-mail to discuss your specific needs.
